Controlling dead stock
Controlling dead stock
- Dead Stock is stock on hand for products that were created at least a few months ago and have not sold for around six months
- There is a Dead Stock list view on products that you can use to see the issues
- Create a view variant, sorting by greatest value, perhaps subtotal by supplier
- Extract dead stock to a stock-take and pick it. Then post the stock-take to a 'Dead Stock' single location.
- Put the stock right in front of the sales team, so they see it when talking to customers
- Look up sales history on dead stock, the last person to buy the item might be willing to purchase it
- Consider using Ebay integration to sell of dead stock
- If you have a retail area, consider starting a "bargain bin" bundling up groups of dead stock items and selling them at a discounted price.
