How deciding to use the adhoc stocktake mode effects your stocktake
Stocktake executes with Adhoc clear stock mode will update the stock for a product at a specified location only and will not impact any other product locations. This is suitable when a product is stored in multiple locations and stocktake is targeting a specific location only. It is depicted as follows :

Understanding product movements with Clear Stock Mode = Ad hoc
- the first product movement is created to add the counted quantity to the current QOH for all locations e.g. interim QOH for all locations = current QOH for all locations + counted QTY for all locations
e.g., from the table above after the stocktake transaction is posted : interim QOH for all locations = (10+5+7) + (10+5+8) = 45 - the second movement is to take off the current QOH from the interim QOH e.g. final QOH for all locations = interim QOH for all locations - current QOH for all locations.
e.g., from the table above after the stocktake transaction is posted : final QOH for all locations = 45 - 22 = 23;
