How deciding to use the clear immediately stocktake mode effects your stocktake

Stocktakes executes in immediately clear stock mode will clear stock in all other locations which allows stocktake to be conducted progressively e.g., rolling stocktake. It is depicted as follows :

Understanding product movements with Clear Stock Mode = Immediately

  1. If the product has not yet been counted since you started a stocktaking run
    1. the first product movement is created to add the counted quantity to the current QOH e.g. interim QOH = current QOH + counted QTY
    2. the second movement is to take off the current QOH from the interim QOH e.g. final QOH = interim QOH - current QOH.
      e.g.,  from the table above after the stocktake transaction is posted : interim QOH for location B = 7+ 8 = 15 then final QOH = 15 - 7 = 8; this can be viewed in the Product's Movements tab.
  2. If the product has been counted since you started another stocktaking, a product movement is created to add the quantity counted on this stocktake line to the stock on hand when the transaction is posted i.e., final QOH = current QOH + count QTY
    e.g., From the table above, if you found another at location C and want to consolidate to location B
    One product movements would be created final QOH = 8 + 1 = 9
