Adding new barcodes to a product

Overview

Typing bar codes into the alternate id list on products is quite slow and error prone. The best way to proceed is to display the product then scan the bar code.

    1. If the scanned code matches an alternate product ID of type “Inner Barcode”, “Outer Barcode” or “Alternate Product ID”, use the product unit on that alternate ID
    2. If the scanned code matches the product ID or any other alternate code, use:
    1. Buy Ship Unit
      1. Stocktake
      2. Stock Location Transfer
      3. Stock Replenishment Run
      4. Purchase Receipt

    2. Default Order Unit
      1. Purchase Order
    3. Default Sell Unit
      1. Sale Order
      2. Sale Shipment
      3. Service Order
      4. Batch Shipment

    4. Each Unit
      1. Product Label
      2. Stock Quantity Adjustment
      3. Anywhere Else


Procedure

From the navigation panel select inventory then products

Find the product you are interested in

 Show me

Scan the barcode. You will be asked if you want to add the barcode for this product. Select yes. 

 Show me


The barcode will be added to the alternate product id list for the product. You can then edit it if required.
