Deleting Products
Overview
- Products can only be deleted if they have No Products Movements and No Quantity on Hand.
- If a Product is set to 'Display on Website' and it is not flagged as 'Catalogue Product', these products will flow up to the Web.
- If a Product is set to 'Display on Website' and it is flagged as 'Catalogue Product', these products already exist on the web from Office Brands but the pricing within Readysell can be modified and these price changes will flow up to the Web.
- If a product is set to 'Catalogue Product' it is a Catalogue Product. Catalogue Products will always remain on the Web as they are maintained by your Buying Group.
- If a Product is flagged as 'Display on Web' and these products are Store Products. When the status of the Product is changed to 'Archived', these products will be deleted off the Web.
- If the 'Display on Web' flag is removed from products in Readysell these products will not be displayed on the Web.
- If the product is set to 'Display on Web', you can ignore the error message and delete the product anyway. But it may stay on the web. Which is not recommended.
- If a product is a store product and you want to delete the product. Set the flag of 'Display on Website' on the products to be OFF and save it. Leave the product so the change in flag flows up to the web. Wait for the changes to flow up to the web then you can delete the product from Readysell.
- If you merge two products together, for the source product (which is from the product), turn off the 'Display on Website' flag and wait for this change to flow up to the web. Wait for the changes to flow up to the web, then you can merge this product to the target product (which is the to product).
If you highlight and select many products to delete at once. If any of the products you select can't be deleted. Then Readysell will display an error message and will not delete any of the selected products. If you have a lot of products to delete, try deleting them in small groups. In the alternative, you can check and find the ones that have had transactions using the instructions shown below. Then don't select those products for delete, change their status to archived. You can also reverse the instructions below to find only the products you can delete, delete those, then archive the rest.
