System types

System types

Overview

System types are groups of system references. System references are a simple way to store data. Each item of data is a simple pair of code and value.

Readysell has two categories of system types - reference system types and configuration system types.

  • Reference system types are used by various objects throughout the system to populate drop down menus. For reference types, users can add and remove system references as they wish.

  • Configuration system types are used to store various system settings. For configuration types, users cannot add and remove references, but they may change their values.

You should review your system references once per year. Either read through this documentation yourself or book in one hour with Readysell to review the settings with you. There are always new settings being added and your business requirements may change. Even if you need to invest in a one our training charge from Readysell, your business might run a lot better by making use of new or optional features.
