Contract settings

Overview

The fields in the Settings tab on a contract allow you to restrict a contract price by quantity or value.

Min Combined QtyThe minimum combined quantity to purchase in order for the contract to apply.  Applies to the contract overall instead of product by product or category by category or customer/supplier by customer/supplier.  See below for examples
Max Combined QtyThe maximum combined quantity the contract will apply to. Applies to the contract overall instead of product by product or category by category or customer/supplier by customer/supplier.  See below for examples
Threshold Value Type 
Min Combined ValueThe minimum combined value to purchase in order for the contract to apply. Applies to the contract overall instead of product by product or category by category or customer/supplier by customer/supplier. See below for examples
Max Combined ValueThe maximum combined value the contract will apply to.  Applies to the contract overall instead of product by product or category by category or customer/supplier by customer/supplier. See below for examples

Examples

The Fruit Discount contract gives all customers a 10% discount on all fruit, but does not apply to any other products.

If the minimum combined quantity is 10:

  • A sale with 10 apples does qualify.
  • A sale with 5 apples and 5 oranges does qualify.
  • A sale with 8 apples and 5 pieces of cheese does not qualify.

If the minimum combined value is $50:

  • A sale with $30 of bananas does not qualify.
  • A sale with $20 each of apples, bananas and peaches does qualify.

If the maximum combined quantity is 50:

  • A sale with 100 apples does not qualify.
  • A sale with 40 peaches and 40 nectarines does not qualify.
  • A sale with 5 apples and 100 pencils does qualify.
  • A sale with only 100 pencils does not qualify, because there are no discounted products.

If the maximum combined value is $500:

  • A sale with $60 of oranges does qualify.
  • A sale with $100 each of oranges, passion fruit and watermelon does qualify.
  • A sale with $200 each of rockmelon, papaya and cheese does qualify.
  • A sale with $400 each of passion fruit, peaches and apricots does not qualify.
