Setting up quantity break sell prices

The sell prices tab on products contains all your sell prices for the product. There can be any number of sell price levels, though normally the main price levels are list, bulk1, bulk2, bulk3 and government.

At the simplest level, setting up a quantity break just requires that you enter a quantity in the quantity break column of the price level you want to change. If you want a bulk1 sell to apply when the customer buys 10 (each) of the item. Enter 10 in the quantity break of the bulk1 sell price. Take care that the prices is not set to update from the price book, by setting the ignore catalogue price changes checkbox on the settings tab of the product.

Price level can be setup in chains. So one lower price level links to a specified higher quantity break price level.

If you sell the product in multiple units. Just enter the sell price to suit the default sell unit on the product. The system will adjust the sell price as you change units. The quantity break quantity is always in default sell units. So if you want a quantity break to apply to a box of (12). Set the quantity to 12 (each units) = 1 X box(12).

The quantity breaks are always in default sell units. So if the default sell unit is BOX(50) and you want sales at the default unit to sell at a bulk price. You have to set the sell price break to 1 not to 50. 50 would be 50 BOXES!

If you had a product with a default sell unit of Box(50). Then each 1 you put in the sell price break for any of the products price levels is one box of 50. So 1 is one box of 50 or 50 eaches. Two is two boxes of 50 or 100 eaches.
