Overview

Using a machine template allows you to record particular machine data once and then use it multiple times without needing to fill it in again. The fields on machine template are optional. You can fill in all the details including meters etc. or just fill in a few of the options. 

Machine templates are used to speed up the process of creating new machines. If you create a machine and select new from template you can automatically fill in most of the fields on the machine from the template.  

When creating a new machine. Just set the machine status to "Template".  You then can fill in any fields you like, the normal validations do not apply. Then use the "Copy" button to copy your template machine when creating new machines, saving you a lot of work and improving standards.
