Delayed vs Online updating of General Ledger balances

OVERVIEW

Readysell can update general ledger online as transactions are posted. In the alternatively balances can be updated overnight by a task.
The delayed updating of balances is slightly faster. Online updating is better if you frequently run general ledger reports.

Procedure

To set the system as Online Updating:

Task to be turned off for Rebuild Aggregations.

 

System reference ‘system types’ for the following PROCESS-AGGREGATIONS-IN-BACKGROUND-TASK is to be set to False.

To turn it back on you just set the above to true

Notes

Delayed general ledger balancing does update the balance on the child account you are posted against for transactions. However, it does not update the related header gl accounts right away unless the transactions are dated today not into the past days. Then, a task ‘refresh balances’ runs at night to update all gl balances for any postings based upon the criteria on that task.
