Overview

Readysell implemented a simple non-trackable gift voucher feature using the existing sale order workflow, product and GL account set-up.

Setup

• You must have a general ledger account for gift vouchers issued and redeamed

• A product category for gift vouchers

• A product to stand for gift voucher sales that must be in the gift voucher product category

• A tender than must use the general ledger account for gift vouchers redeemed

Usage

• Sell the gift voucher product on a sale to the customer (the product on the invoice is the actual Gift Voucher, the system will not print off an actual gift voucher)

• The invoice/receipt printed should be retained by the customer as this is their only evidence that the gift voucher exists

• When the customer wants to redeem a gift voucher, they must present the original printed invoice or receipt for the sale of the gift voucher

• Your staff must retain the original invoice for the gift voucher to prevent it being reused

• Your staff must use the full amount of the gift voucher as a tender on the redeeming sale

• If you do not wish to give the customer any change in the form of cash and if the sale value is less than the gift voucher tender. You can add a product to the sale being a gift voucher. For the difference between the value of the sale and the value of the gift voucher being tendered
