Troubleshooting Cino Bluetooth Barcode Scanners

The steps provided below are common procedures which can restore the functionality back on the Cino FB780BT (Bluetooth bar-code scanner).  Please ensure the following requirements are completed to the scanner unit and cradle:

  • The cables are connected correctly on the PC and cradle for both power and USB.
  • Ensure the battery is insert correctly and either a Green (Fully Charged) or Red (Charging) is seen when Scanning unit is in the cradle.
  • For the latest version of the scanner, ensure that the switch, on the bottom of the cradle, is in the "OFF" position as this scanner doesn't require USB power.
  • Ensure that the driver is installed on the workstation before connecting to scanner and set to COM before using in Readysell Program.

Turn Off Sleep Mode For Cino Bluetooth Scanner 

If the Scanner stops scanning in Readysell:

Cradle has a blue light, Scanner can scan the bar-code but no items appear on screen:

Please follow these steps:

  1. Close the Readysell program.
  2. Remove power cable from the cradle (the centre thin cable which connect to the wall socket).  Ensure that the light on cradle are off. If they are not, please ensure that the switch on the bottom "OFF" position.
  3. Allow for approximately 10 seconds waits while the unit power cycle the unit. 
  4. Re-connect the power cable to the cradle and confirm that the blue light appear on the Cradle. If the Light is Red, simply press the trigger on the scanning unit and the cradle should change to Blue.
  5. Once the Cradle have return to its normal state (Blue light on the cradle), Open the Readysell Program, Wait for the program cache to build and test the scanner in a sale screen. If you test before the program cache finishes, it will delay the speed taken to produce the item on the screen.

No Scanning Beam appear when the trigger is activated. Cradle has a blue light.

Please follow this steps:

  1. Close the Readysell Program.
  2. Remove the Scanning unit from the Cradle.
  3. Unscrew the screw which found on the bottom of the scanning unit (Charging point of the scanning unit).
  4. Remove the end cap, this will show the battery inside the unit.
  5. Remove the Battery using the plastic tab provided.
  6. Wait 15 seconds while the unit discharges the power within the unit. While waiting for the discharge to take place, please ensure no dust or other matter are on the copper connections on the battery.
  7. Once the wait time is complete, insert the battery are marked and screw in the end cap on the scanning. Power should return to the unit and it should re- connect to the cradle.
  8. Press the trigger and confirm that the scanning beam is present. If the scanning beam is not present, allow the scanning unit to charge for a 5 minutes and re-test. If this is still working after this point, please contact Readysell support.
  9. Once it has been confirm that it produces a scanning beam, Open the Readysell Program, Wait for the program cache to build and test the scanner in a sale screen. If you test before the program cache finishes, it will delay the speed taken to produce the item on the screen.    

When Scanning Unit, Cradle or Both are flashing Green and Red:

This will required are "Reprogramming Cino Bluetooth Scanner" document printed out to restore this scanner. Please follow these steps:

  1. Close the Readysell program.
  2. Ensure that both parts (Scanning unit and Cradle) are in "Factory Defaults" mode (Green and Red flashing). This can been complete by scanning the "factory default" in the reprogramming document for the scanning unit. On the left-hand on the cradle (If the light is face to the operator), there is a maroon colour coloured button which can perform a hardware reset on the cradle. Press and hold this button for 10 seconds and then release.
  3. Once the Scanning unit and Cradle are send back to "Factory Defaults" mode, follow the document for Re-programming the Cino Bluetooth Scanner.
  4. Once this complete, Open the Readysell Program, Wait for the program cache to build and test the scanner in a sale screen. If you test before the program cache finishes, it will delay the speed taken to produce the item on the screen.

Scanner cradle goes red after 30 minutes when the scanner has not been used.

 This is a standard for the CINO Bluetooth Scanner to save power in sleep mode for those scanners. Generally, this is switch off to increased the proficiency of the scanner in point of sale environment. Please follow the "Turn off sleep mode for Cino Scanner" document to set the scanner not to go into Sleep mode. These steps which will need to be completed, if a factory reset is required. If the scanner still go to sleep after complete these steps, please contact Readysell.

Scanning unit is flashing Red and Green but the Base remain Red.

This will required are "Reprogramming Cino Bluetooth Scanner" document printed out to restore this scanner. Please follow these steps:

The Scanning unit have been set into factory Default but the base didn't retrieve signal to switch itself to factory default. A hardware reset is required to set the base to factory default. On the left hand side of the base, there is small maroon coloured button which need to be held in for 15 seconds to perform a hardware reset on the unit. Release the button after 15 seconds and the base should flash green and red like the scanning unit. Once it is in this state, follow the Reprogramming guide to restore the scanning unit back into working order.  



If complete these steps and the scanner is still not functioning correctly, Please complete a "Factory Reset" following the "Reprogramming Cino Scanner" document. Please contact Readysell if these solutions don't resolve the issue.
