Troubleshooting Auto-warehousing in Readysell 8.

Readysell's Auto-warehousing feature automatically produces sale shipments and prints picking slips for any "Open" sales orders that meet the generate shipment criteria. To troubleshoot Auto-Warehousing, please review the following set-up:"

Auto-warehousing is not producing a picking slip for a sale order that appears ready to release

Please go to the automatic warehousing task in administration, advanced, tasks from the navigation panel. Then look at the log entries for the last run. If a sale order is not being released. A message will normally display explaining why. For example below one order is not being released because the customer involved has reached the maximum shipments per order. The reason may be a web order does not have a status of released, there are no more lines to ship etc. Most of the time this approach will show you the solution.

 Auto-warehousing is not producing any shipments:

Please check the following:

  • Ensure Site details are configured to your requirements and ensure that the sales orders meet the criteria set.   


  • Ensure the Task "Automatic Warehousing" is enabled.


  • Review the Task and ensure no errors or exceptions are found in the Log. The log can be exported to a TXT file to see previously recorded events.

Auto-Warehousing is producing shipments, but it is not printing out picking slips:

  • Check the printer is powered on and it is installed on the server. 
  • Check the printer to ensure that there is no print queue jam which would stop other jobs from printing.
  • Check the workstation settings for Server. Ensure the network based printer (not shared from another location) or local printer which is connected directly to the server is selected. Ensure the server is set as the default workstation.

  • Check and make sure that the Criteria have been set according to the requirement of the customer. By default, the standard criteria are "Status = In progress". Ensure the flag name "Automatically Print" in turn  

  • Check the windows schedule tasks called "Readysell print helper". It runs every minute for 11 hours and set to "Run whether user is logged on or not". This task starts at 7.00pm 

  • Check the "Printing Queue" which provides information and progress of current print jobs. 
    • "Posted" means that job printed out. 
    • "Open" : waiting to be sent to the printer and picked up by the scheduled task. 
    • "Failed" : fail to send or print, click "Exception" tab for detailed message.

  • In Event Viewer, enable the operational log in Print services (Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Print Services). This will monitor all print jobs associated with the server.
