Setting up the inbound email parser

Readysell can be set up to automatically import and parse email for various scenarios, including:

  • Reading meter counts sent automatically from machines
  • Reading meter counts sent in response to a meter count run
  • Creating and updating cases

To use the Readysell email parser, you will need a dedicated email address with a dedicated mailbox that Readysell can read from. The email address should be name "readysell@(company mail domain)". Setting up a separate email account allow Readysell to manage the mail which go into that account and don't interfere with the directly email account. Please ensure this is set up and then follow these steps to configure Readysell. 

  1. In Readysell, go to Administration > Advanced > System Types
  2. Select the "MAIL" system type
  3. Fill in the following system references based on the instructions in the Description of each reference:
    • INBOUND-TYPE
    • INBOUND-HOST
    • INBOUND-PORT
    • INBOUND-ENABLE-SSL
    • INBOUND-USERNAME
    • INBOUND-PASSWORD
  4. Go to Administration > Advanced > Tasks
  5. Find and run the "Import and Parse Emails" job
  6. Set up the task schedule and make sure it is enabled
  7. Run the job to test
  8. Restart Readysell Server service
