Catalogue Loads vs Price Book runs

Price Book Runs...

They will update all product data collected from Office Brands to the corresponding products in your product file based on the flags you choose on which pieces of data to update.

This includes: Catalogue products, Web 01 products, Extended Range products.

They do not add in any new products.

Catalogue Loads...

They will only update Catalogue products and Web 01 products.

They will also add in any new products that Office Brands have added to those catalogues.

They do not update any Extended Range products at all.

Flyer Loads...

They do not update existing product data inside the products themselves, but loads the flyer pricing into your promotions module

They do not update any Extended Range products.

They do add in any new products if any of the products in the flyer do not currently exist within your product file.

You will need to keep loading your regular flyers.

What should I do?

Price Book runs are the preferred method for version 7 stores  It's one load but does not add in any new products.

Catalogue loads are two loads per catalogue (list/bulk pricing and govt pricing loads).

The suggestion is...

Only load the catalogue when a new catalogue (not an updated one) is released from Office Brands.  This will load any new products along with pricing.

After that, only use price book runs until the next new catalogue is released from Office Brands.

You do not need to load a price book run and a catalogue load all in one week.  Data is released weekly.  If you load all of your catalogues, then wait until the next week to start loading the price book run.

You will however need to keep loading your flyers and flyer updates.  Price book runs do not load up any flyers.
