Managing changes to locations when stock is being picked at the same time

If you are actively changing locations and picking stock at the same time. You may get an issue where the location on the stock being picked has changed while the transaction was being picked. If this happens you will get a message about there not being enough stock to supply the goods. This happens because the "pick" button, is either applied manually or automatically by automatic warehousing before you start picking. The locations on the transaction you are picking from will not change once picking is in progress. Even if you transfer stock between locations after picking is started for the transaction.

If this happens, the procedure is:

• Press the "pick" button again for the transaction. This will reallocate locations to the transaction. In effect it will refresh the locations on the document
• Press the "Finalise" or "Complete" button again once the locations on the document have been refreshed
• If one of the locations shows as blank, that means someone else has picked the stock you were trying to access. Since the stock is no longer in the system, the "pick" button can't allocate a location to this transaction.
