Overview
Before you start working on your full stocktake, follow the procedure below on your test system. Make sure you understand why the stock movements are happening for your test product/s.
Procedure
Log onto Readysell using your test login
Select "Administration" on the navigation panel then select "Sites". Then highlight your site and click on the "Settings" tab.Make sure the "Clear Stock Mode" is "Immediately". Then save the site record if required. This will save you having to change the clear stock mode on every stocktake one at a time before you can finalise them.
From "Inventory" then "stocktakes" from the navigation panel
Click on the "Start STocktaking" button, make sure the stocktake mode is the mode you want to test running then click ok. There will be a delay while the system prepares your products for stocktake.
Select "Inventory" then "Products" from the navigation panel. Then find a product with no stock on hand
Right click on the product, then select "New", then "stock quantity adjustment"
Enter stock into two location on the stock quantity adjustment. Then finalise the stock quantity adjustment. The product should now show as having stock in two locations
Click on "New" on stocktakes and create a new stocktake. Then enter the product you are using for your test, but only for one location. You will not be able to post your stocktake until you set the "Clear Stock Mode" to "Final Stocktake".
Then go back to the product and check the stock on hand for the product and the product movements. Make sure you look at:
- The stock on hand for your site
- The stock on hand for each location
- The product movements from the stocktake
Notice how in the example below, I entered my stocktake line for the product in location 01 for 25. The stock in location 1 was cleared and replaced by the 25 I counted. This resulted in one stock movement of -10 removing the stock on hand and another product movement of +25 to add back the stock I counted. Importantly note how the total stock on hand has decreased by 5. As the stock in the second location was cleared immediately, as soon as I posted the stocktake. The total stock on hand for the product is now equal to the amount I counted for the product in a single location!
If the stock was really in two locations. The stock in the second location would still be there, but the system would not know about it. This would effect picking, as the system will never pick from the second location until you get around to actually counting that stock back into the system
