Overview
Products, parts and machines are linked together as follows:
Products have a list of parts that can be used in a machine based on the product. For example product "A" might have parts "B" and "C". Expected meter count is recorded on the product part.
Machines have a product. The parts that can be used in the machine are defined on the product specified on the machine. For example machines 1,2,3 and 4 all have a product of "A" so the parts "B" and "C" are applicable to all those machines.
Machines have a list of machine parts.
The machine parts are created on the machine when a shipment for that machine is posted.
Shipments come from service orders, sale orders or shipments themselves for the machine.
Machine parts have a date from the shipment, as the same part can be used on a machine many times.
When a new machine part is created on a machine, the old part with the same product code is assumed to have been used up and replaced by the new machine part
Meters on a machine have supplies.
Meter supplies must be one of the parts for the product.
If meter supplies are specified, then any counts on the meter go towards calculating the actual yield on the machine parts.
As a result, if a machine part is recorded on a machine, due to say a shipment generated by a service order, then the actual usage on the machine part will not update unless:
- The part is supplied against the machine for a second time, telling the system the machine part has now been replaced and
- The product on the machine part is also on the supplies list for a meter on the machine. So the system can tell which meter to use to track meter counts against each machine part.

Machine Product Parts
The product on the machine itself acts as the Module, that is, it is the product that stands for a machine.
Some machines can have parts as well.
All parts used by Machines will show in the parts tab on the machine.
If the part on the machine has an 'expected yield' (life), then the system will show the expected yield on the tab 'Part' on that machine.
When the machine part is replaced, the field of 'actual yield' (life) will update on the part.
In order for the field 'actual yield' to be updated you need to have a part on the Machine Meter Supply.

The field 'expected meter count' on the product part is manually entered onto the Product part (for the product that stands for that machine) or it can be imported from a spreadsheet.
Set up required for Predicted End Date
In order to get the 'Predicted End Date' action you need to setup the following
- Log onto Readysell>Service>Machines
Find the machineid and click on 'Related' from the top ribbon and select 'Show Product' - The product that stands for the machine (model) will display to screen
- Click on general tab
- Click on parts tab
- Add the part product to the product
- Then add 'expected meter count'
- Do not tick 'Is supply' ('is supply' means it is a toner and uses toner tracking system and the start date for the part will be immediately)
If this tick is True as Is Supply is ON, we don't start it until we get information back from FM Audit and/or emails that provide toner level data.
