Using a machine template allows you to record particular machine data once and then use it multiple times without needing to fill it in again. The fields on machine template are optional. You can fill in all the details including meters etc. or just fill in a few of the options. Machine templates are used to speed up the process of creating new machines. If you create a machine and select new from template you can automatically fill in most of the fields on the machine from the template. |

Field | Description |

Name | This field shows the name of the machine template |
Manufacturer | This is the manufacturer for the machine |
Status | Machine status for the machine template |
Start Date | This is the start date for the machine |
End Date | The end date for the machine template |
Product | This is the product for this machine template |
Customer | This is the customer for this machine template |
Address | Machine template allows users to generate new contracts in respect to machines. A machine template can also be a predesigned template that can be used for reocurring machines |

Name | This field shows the name of the template |
Meter Type | This is the meter type for the template (E.g: Colour, black and white etc) |
Count Cycle | This is the count cycle for this template |
General Tab

Count Method | This field shows the count method for this template |
Minimum Charge | This is the minimum charge for the template |
Count Role | This is the count role for this template |
Count Required | If this box is checked, the meter count run must be explicitly check; no estimates are allowed |
Charge Product | This is the charge product for this template |
Count User | This is the count user for this template |
Auto Read Months | The number of months used when estimating |
Allow Estimate | This indicates whether estimates are allowed for meter records created from this template. Estimates are generated only if no count is captured when it is time to invoice the meter count run |

Customer | This is the customer for this charge split |
Percentage | The percentage for the meter charge split |
Address | The cost of an invoice for a meter can be shared between customers by using charge splits. If there is no charge split for a meter then the whole charge goes to the customer that owns that machine. |

Procedure
When creating a new machine. Just set the machine status to "Template". You then can fill in any fields you like, the normal validations do not apply. Then use the "Copy" button to copy your template machine when creating new machines, saving you a lot of work and improving standards.
