Overview

Sometimes at point of sale you have entered a sale shipment and the customer wants to back order some lines. When this happens press the "Order" button on the sale shipment to convert the sale shipment you have already ordered into a sale order.

Sometimes the customer wants to take part of the goods now and back order the other part. When this happens, the simplest thing is to enter two sale shipments

Converting a sale shipment to a sale order at POS

Enter the sale shipment as usual. When the details are complete. Click the 'Order' button on the ribbon above the sale shipment tab. The sale shipment will be converted to a sale order. Then save the sale order or ship it. Just like any other sale order. The sale shipment you created is automatically removed when you convert the sale shipment to a sale order.

Splitting a shipment between pickup and delivery at POS

How do we split a shipment into products a customer takes and products to deliver.

For example: A customer in the shop picks up a few items , comes to the counter (we decide we will be doing a shipment), more than likely will be an account customer.

While at the counter she asks if we could also drop around ten boxes of paper.

How do we send the paper to go on a run sheet while letting the customer take the other goods with her?

 Solution

  • You need two shipments.

  • The simplest solution is (there are a few variations on this basic approach depending on the product being in stock) :

    • Click the ‘Order’ button above the sale shipment to convert the sale shipment to an order

      • Note, if you use Readysell at POS your team must know how and when to use the ‘Order’ button on the sale shipment. This will save your team a pile of time in may situations, for example this one or when a customer wants to back order a product and buy other products at the same time from a shipment at POS.

  • Click on ‘yes’ when asked to convert the shipment to an order

  • If required, finish adding any extra lines

  • Check all the lines allocated, if not you may need to set the supply type to ‘Ignore’ on the line you need to ship anyway

  • Click the ‘ship’ button on the order

  • Change the quantity supplied to 0 on the line you do not want to ship now

  • Complete the shipment and let the customer walk out the door

  • Click the ‘Ship’ button on the sale order and generate the second shipment for delivery
