(WIP) Long term hire of machines

Overview

To hire a machine out for a long period of time we setup a hire meter on a machine. Then set the charge to on the machine to be the customer to whom the machine is hired out. Each month a hire charge is generated for the machine. Along with any meter usage, minimum and other charges.

Setting up a machine for long term hire

You may set the customer on the machine to be your own business and to to be the customer if the machine is only going to be hired in the medium term.

For long term hires, you should set the customer and charge to on the machine to be the customer themselves

Add a hire meter to the machine. The hire meter can be a minimum charge or it can be a subtotal based on usage for any number of meters.

Setup the price levels, minimum quantity and minimum price on the hire meter as appropriate. Using the same charging rules as any other meter

If your hire contract covers a group of machines. You may need to create a total machine and set it as the parent of all the machines being hired. That way you can base your hire change on the total usage across all the child machines associated with the total machine.
