Transferring equipment covered by a machine service contract between customers


Machines in Readysell represent a support contract. The actual device, such as a printer, associated with the "machine" record in Readysell a seperate thing from the "machine" service contract.

If you need to move equipment from being owned by one customer to another, you need to close the old machine and create a new one. The new machine representing the new service contract.


Change the machine status on the existing machine to "Archived"

Create a new machine with the same serial number as the old machine. Add any required meters and other details. 

Set the initial count on the meters to be the closing counts from the old machine.

Put the new customer's details on the new machine

Change the status of the new machine to "Active" or some other appropriate machine status.
