Splitting of charges for machine meters to more than one customer
This feature does not work for meters that have kit products. Also there is one procedure below for machines that do not have a minimum total count with charge to on meter prices and a charge to and a separate procedure fro machines that do have a minimum total count and charge to's on meters.
Overview
You can break up your charges by meters for over a number of customers.
You may wish to break up click charges over for a meter over a number of customers. This feature DOES NOT WORK for Kit Products. That is a product that has multiple meter product prices.
Splitting meter charges on individual meters is not compatible with having a minimum total count on the total meter. As the minimum total count overrides all individual meter charges if it apples. A minimum total count would replace all your individual meter charge to prices and charge the minimum to the specified customer. This limitation has to apply, as you can't charge both the minimum total charge and the individual meter charges to the customer or charge to. In every meter charge run for each machine. Either the charge rules on all the individual meters apply for the machine or the minimum total charge is applied for the machine.
Setup Procedure One for individual meters (Except where you want to have both charge to on individual meter prices and a minimum total charge for the whole machine)
The procedure covering cases where you want a minimum total charge and individual meter charge to's is show below in setup procedure 2.
- Log onto Readysell>Services>Machines>Meters
- Find a meter on a machine that you may wish to split the charges
Eg shown below is on a Black Meter. The total meter price for the black meter adds up to $0.006. However you wish to break the charges up and charge different customers.
Type = Count, Chargeto = blank (uses the customer cardid on the machine), price ex tax = 0.002
Type = Count, Chargeto = Test2, Price ex tax = 0.003
Type = Count, Chargeto = Test3, Price ex tax = 0.001
Total charges for the black meter overal is $0.006
- Click on Save
- Extract a meter count run. On the meter count run you will see only the total number of copy clicks for the black meter x price. Price being the sum of all the meter product pricing on that meter eg $0.006'

Not until you click on Prepare Shipments and then Finalise action buttons will you see multiple shipments for each customer chargeto that is on the Meter Price.
For each meter product price chargeto, you will get a separate invoice.
Setup Procedure Two (You want to have both chargeto on individual meter prices and a minimum total charge for the whole machine if the total sum of the copy clicks X price is less than the Total Minimumcount)
The procedure covering cases where you want a minimum total charge and individual meter charge to's is show below in setup procedure 2.
- Log onto Readysell>Services>Machines>Meters
- Create a Machine to stand for the Total Machine (parent)
- Set up the total meter and the children meters (make sure the names of the meters are the same as the children meters)
- Do not apply any meter product pricing to the total meter
- To each of the children meters on the total machine, add the meters and the meter product price with the chargeto customer and price
- Create the child machine
- Add the Total machineid to this children machine
- Add the Total Meter with the meter product price type = Minimum Total Count and a price
- Add each of the children meters with a type = count and a chargeto and the price
- Save
- Extract a meter count run. On the meter count run if the total $value of all the copy clicks is less than the minimum total count value, you will get a invoice to charge the customer for the minimum value and a invoice for the chargeto customer for the copyclicks x meter price
