Readysell requires that you use the standard sales invoice and statement.

WARNING!

Readysell will charge you if a custom report breaks for any reason. Including due to a Readysell upgrade:

• Readysell can't test you report when we change our program. As your custom form reports only exist at your site, not at Readysell. It is not practical for Readysell to individually test every custom form report at every customers site before we deploy upgrades
• Any custom form report you make may break at any time due to Readysell upgrades
• Form reports work like "Crystal" reports, they have a internal copy of the field definitions from Readysell. So if the fields in Readysell change, the report may break. If this should happen you will be charged if you ask Readysell to make the report again.The risk of breaking is in the nature of custom reports, we can't prevent this issue if you elect to go with a custom report. So we advise you to stick to the built in reports
• Readysell does use it's best efforts to reduce the change that custom reports will break. We do all possible tests, but we can't eliminate the risk

Readysell charges for creating custom reports as well as for fixing them if they break.

Best practice is as follows:

• Use list views, list reports and analysis reports for your custom reporting if possible. Those types of reports don't break when we send out an upgrade. Make sure you get sufficient training to understand the different types of reports
• Stick to the standard form report layouts that are deployed with the system in respect to key reports such as invoices, statements, delivery dockets and labels.
• Readysell is always looking for ways to improve our standard built in reports. Best practice is to let Readysell know about any improvements to the standard reports that you would like. Readysell will do it's best to include your requirements in a future release of the standard reports.
• Readysell is willing to help you use the standard reports. We are always happy to help you understand the standard reports. You may find the option you want already exists as a standard report. Only consider custom reports once you are sure you need the report right now and that the standard reports don't satisfy your requirements.

Procedure

The documentation link below explains how to modify a form report. The built in from reports can't be changed. So you have to copy the report before you can modify your copy. The procedure is:

• From the reports item on the navigation menu select form reports
• Either
  • Click on the Readysell store icon at the top of the screen, find a report you like and import it or
  • Change the report filter at the top of the screen to show all reports
  • Highlight a report like the one you want to customise
  • Click the copy button to make a copy of the report
  • Give your copy a name then save the copy
  • Find your copy report in the reports list. It will be in the same section as the origional report you copied and will not have a report id
  • Click on the edit report button to bring up the report editor. The edit report button is grey for built in reports (those with a report id) and is avalable only for your copied reports or reports you have imported from the Readysell store
