Matching data to remove duplicated products

If you have the same product on your system under a number of product codes, price book runs may be able to merge the duplicates for you. To do so:

  • Match on all available criteria
  • Filer the price book run lines  to only show changes to productid
  • Consider adding both price book and product names to the line list view
  • Delete any lines where the new and old product id are incorrect
  • Post the price book run to merge the duplicated product codes.

The Match On tab on the Extract Price Book Run window lets you specify how data from the Price Book will be matched with data already on the product file.

The following criteria can be used to match data:

  • Supplier Product ID is the product's ID with the supplier.
  • Product ID is the product's ID.
  • Name is the product's name.
  • Previous Product ID will match against any of the product's previous (alternate?) IDs.
  • EZ Code is a code used by some Readysell installations to identify products. This is usually used in catalogues.
  • Manufacturer Product ID is the product's ID with the manufacturer.
  • Alternate Supplier Code is an alternate supplier code.

You can check any number of these categories.
