Overview

Readysell allows you to accept pre-payments against sale orders. This can be used to handle lay-bys. Follow this procedure to configure your system with the necessary settings.

Procedure

Setting up a deposit percentage

You need to determine the percentage required to stand for the deposit made on the sale. Once you have worked this out a system reference needs to be set up. A user with administrative rights can only set this system reference up otherwise call Readysell for help.

  1. Log into Readysell
  2. From the Navigation panel click Administration
  3. Select Advanced
  4. Click System Types
  5. In the search bar type in "Sales"

  6. Find the code "ORDER-DEPOSIT"

  7. In the value field, type in the percentage required for the deposit on that order
  8. Click Save
  9. Log out of sales and log back in

Setting up the non-stocked product

  1. Check and see if there is a general ledger account of "Forfeit Deposits". If not set one up in income section of your chart
  2. Check and see if there is a product category that represents cancelled lay-bys/order payments. Assign the GL account for the forfeit deposit into the field of "Sales" only

  3. Set up a product called OC as non-stocked product to stand for order cancellation. Ensure that the product category is "Cancel Lay-By/Order Payment" category. Ensure that the type is "Order cancellation"
