Overview
Service Order Templates are created to standardise and simplify the whole Service workflow. It epitomised Readysell approach to the build-once-use-many-times strategy to maximise reusability and minimise the amount of work required to create a Service transaction. Service Order Template is used
- when Service Orders are being created automatically from :
- Cases workflow by using the Generate Service Order from case actions;
- Meters workflow where the meter is set to create service orders conditionally e.g.
- when toner level drops below a certain level or
- where a meter reading reaches a particular count.
- Machines workflow where the service order in respect to that machine is required
- when Service Orders are created manually
Except for Name all other Service Order Template fields are optional so you can decide how much information to fill in for each template. This provides the flexibility to customise the templates to suit application.
Setting up a service order template
Create a Service Order Template
- In the Navigation panel, go to Service then Service Order Templates,
- Click New to create a new template.
- Enter template details, except for Name all other fields are optional. Typically these fields are :
- Name of the template
- Customer - usually left blank unless you are creating a template for a particular customer
- Customer Order - usually left blank.
- Workflow Status - defaults to 'Logged'
- Order Priority - can be left blank and selected at the time of creating the service order, or a priority can be selected for this template.
- Return Type - can select either 'Normal' or Warranty' or left blank.
- Product - can be left blank or unless you are creating a template for a particular product
- Optionally, enter details on the Line tab:
- Product - could be used to standardise service orders e.g. typical service order charged components consists of 'call out fee', 'Travel time' or 'Labour time'. Enter each of these in a product on the line to reduce work
- Click Save to save the template.

Service Order from a template
- In the Navigation panel, go to Service then Service Orders
- Click New From Template to create a new service order.
- Select the applicable service order template, then click OK. Readysell will create a new service order with all the information from the template.
