Since all Service Except for Name all other Service Order Template fields are optional , yso you can decide how much information to fill in for each template, which . This provides the flexibility to customise the templates to suit circumstancessuit application.

Setting up a service order template

  1. In the navigation Navigation panel, go to Service then Service Order Templates,
  2. Click New to create a new template.
  3. Enter the details you want to store in the template. You must enter a name, but all template details, except for Name all other fields are optional. The following fields are often usedTypically these fields are :
    • Name : What you are going to call the Templateof the template
    • Customer - Normally  usually left blank on a template unless you are creating a template to be used for a particular customer.
    • Customer Order - Normally usually left blank.
    • Workflow Status = Defaults - defaults to 'Logged'
    • Select Service Order Priority - can be left blank and selected at the time of creating the service order, or a priority can be selected for this template.
    • Select Return Type - Can can select either 'Normal' or Warranty' or can be left blank.
    • Select Product - Can can be left blank or can be a service order unless you are creating a template for a particular product.
  4. Optionally, enter details on the Line Items tab:
    • Product
    : Can be left blank or it
    • - could be used to standardise service orders
    and reduce typing. Example the service order could be for a
    • e.g. typical service order charged components consists of 'call out fee'
    or
    • , 'Travel time'
    ;
    • or '
    A drum that needs to be replaced on a printer' etc. You would then enter these products on the line level as it would be a standard reusable Service Order Template.
  5. The values of the product on the service order lines are exactly the same as when doing a service order line.
  6. Eg If the template is used to generate a service order to replace a drum on a printer.  In this case you would need products to account for the replaced Drum, Call out fee, Service call fee etc.
  7. When you have finished, click Save.
    • Labour time'. Enter each of these in a product on the line to reduce work
  8. Click Save to save the template.

Creating a new service order from a template

  1. In the navigation Navigation panel, go to Service then Service Order Templates,Orders
  2. Click New From Template to create a new service order.
  3. Select the applicable service order template you wish to use, then click OK. Readysell will create a new service order with all the information from the template.
